🔴 Fall Zones (Critical)

Safety zones around equipment must NEVER overlap with:

• Other equipment fall zones
• Hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt)
• Obstacles (walls, fences, trees)

🟡 Minimum Clearances

• Free fall height < 60cm: 1.5m clearance
• Free fall height ≥ 60cm: See equipment spec
• Slides: Extended zone at exit (2m min)
• Swings: Extended arc zone front/back

🟢 Allowed Overlaps

These items CAN share space:

• Urban furniture (benches, bins) - no fall zone
• Low items (<60cm) with soft surface
• Circulation paths (not in fall zones)

⚠️ Surface Requirements

• Impact-absorbing surface under all equipment
• HIC (Head Injury Criterion) must pass for fall height
• Common: rubber tiles, EPDM, wood chips, sand
